May 6th, 2012 Can ‘Professional Creatives’ exist? As a designer myself, I have met many people who were paid to be creative, perhaps a small army’s worth. From Creative Directors, to Consultants, Media Manager, Art Directors, Creatives, Directors, Composers, Stylists and of course Designers. The thing that binds these people together is the fact that they are ‘professional creatives’, people paid to introduce new ideas, styles and practices into a business. The more I worked in the same field as them, the more I began to question creativity in the workplace, intact what I was seeing was recycling material but with a new facade. Hello. I'm Tiga Seagar, an interactive designer from Auckland, New Zealand. I have an interest for putting interactivity back into the physical space away from computer screens. The true joy of life is sharing an experience, and I believe that digital media should encompass more senses than the purely visual. When I'm not designing or strategising at my job, I like to draw, photograph my travels, build mechanical things and get lost in my own thoughts.
